Jul. 16th, 2007 05:02 pmZomg! One of my best friends from high school just friended me on facebook! She hasn't disappeared off the face of the earth. :) And I was just thinking about her, since I'm digging through boxes of stuff and found a box of correspondence from when I first moved out to KY. (A box of letters from friends, with photos, and then my Ops Badge and Xavier Institute student ID-fabulous treasures, I assure you.)
Also, I got to see the Harry Potter movie yesterday. It's really getting to be too much book, not enough movie, but it was still fun. Mom enjoyed it even though she hadn't read the book, and I enjoyed it until I got in the car and started wishing for just one more scene with... But it was exciting. And very light on Harry whining, which I know a lot of people hated about that book.
I also saw Ratatouille a while ago. I thought it was really cute, and I loved the ending. I found a recipe for the dish they make in the movie, but it was far too complicated. I'll stick to the peasant version.
I've been shopping with my mom-we got our first round of Hallmark ornaments (limited edition Uhurah!) including a couple of Star Trek ones. I don't know how many of y'all are geeky Christmas fans, but Hallmark has some awesome ornaments this year. I may be influenced by the fact that I haven't been able to properly celebrate for several years now, but I'm already excited. And I found a shirt to go with a skirt I bought a while ago-I swore I wouldn't buy bits and pieces like that any more, but the skirt was so darn cute! No luck on finding new dishes, though-our Kmart didn't have the Corelle pattern they advertised. Not that I really need new dishes, but the ones I have are so heavy and I covet the little blue Corelle flowers. Mom said she'd get them for me for my b-day, if we can find some that I like.
I had a moment of fandom glee when I realized I do have a fandom that doesn't kill off it's psychologists (at least so far)-Loveless. And it has catboys, but it comes with a whole slew of other problems that make me reluctant to get too far into it.
