Mar. 1st, 2008 02:08 amI accomplished things today. I finally called to make an appointment to have my wisdom teeth out. And then I went to check the mail, and had to throw a little hissyfit. I went to the post office yesterday to mail out a resume. Guess what came back "postage due" to me today? Seems the clerk had written down the postage in the corner, but forgotten to actually put on a stamp.
So I went back. And the woman was really nice, and apologized right away and said she knew it was her fault, because she recognized her handwriting. And she put the stamp on right in front of me-and understood right away that I wanted to mail the new envelope I'd brought in, not re-mail the one with the "postage due" marking on it-because it was a resume, and I wanted it to look nice. She was so sweet and it was totally no big deal. That's one nice thing about living in a small town. So I felt bad about having been angry-but I'm still used to being in a big city where people aren't nice like that. (And I was totally nice to her, because I did think it was an honest mistake.)
